Retriever Woodworks | A Case Study by Pathos Design Co.

I've long admired the meticulous attention to detail and artistic precision of Retriever Woodworks. So, when I was approached to rebrand the company, I knew I had to bring the same level of craftsmanship to the designs as Jacob, the founder and lead carpenter, does in every piece of furniture he creates.

Retriever Woodworks was born from Jacob’s passion, grit, and autodidactic journey toward mastering traditional woodworking techniques. His work is the culmination of years dedicated to perfecting an age-old craft, and I wanted the branding to reflect that character.

Carpentry is one of the oldest professions in human history, so we decided to embrace a vintage, hand-crafted aesthetic for the branding. It was essential to incorporate the inspiration behind the company's founding—Jacob’s beloved Retriever. The result is a seamless blend of a rugged, vintage, self-starting artisan brand with a tribute to the loyal companion that sparked it all.

Every element of the branding was handcrafted in the Pathos Design Co studio.
